Embryology
The study of the 38-week prenatal period is called embryology. Embryology helps one understand the basic organization of the human body, as well as the origin of birth defects.
Prenatal vs Embryotic period
embryonic period, during which the basic body plan is established, is the first 8 weeks of prenatal development. Embryotic period primarily a time of growth and maturation, is the remaining 30 weeks.

Ectoderm and endoderm are epithelial tissues (sheets of closely attached cells).
