Primary electrical power

28 VDC from 2 main and 2 auxiliary generators

Secondary source

External power source, APU, aircraft NiCd battery.

Also backup battery

DC distribution

Bus 1 and Bus 2 connected by tie bus to Central DC bus

In flight

Three buses are connected to the auxiliary generators. The emergency buses are normally connected to the right main generators, may be switched automatically or manually to other power sources in event of main gen power loss.

AC electrical

Provided by two 250 VA, 400 Hz static inverters which convert 28 VDC into 115 and 26 VAC. Inverter 1 normally powers the 4 AC buses with inverter 2 as standby.

Cockpit emergency lighting

OFF disconnects battery pack from emergency lights. Emergency lights won't come on when aircraft electrical system is turned off.

ARM normal flight position. If emergency DC bus 1 fails all emergency lights come on.

ON power from emergency DC bus 1 is cut off, simulating electrical failure. Batt pack connected to emergency lights, turning them on.
