What is emf?

Source of electrical energy per unit charge produced by the source

What is internal resistance?

The loss of potential difference per unit current in a source when current passes through the source

What is a potential divider?

Consists of two or more resistors in series with each other and a source of fixed potential difference which is shared between the components.

What is ohms law?

Potential difference across a component is directly proportional to the current through it

What happens in a series circuit?

Voltage shared between components and current is the same.

What happens in a parallel circuit?

Voltage is the same and current is shared

What was Kirchoff's first law?

Total current flowing into a point is equal to the current flowing out

What is kirchoff's second law?

Around closed loops in a circuit sun of potential differences across all components is 0. Any charge that starts and ends up at the same point must have gained as much energy as it lost

Define volt

One joule per coulomb
