Defense joint intelligence operations center (DJIOC)


Lead DoD intelligence organization responsible for integrating and synchronizing military and national intelligence capabilities.

Theater level intelligence

Combatant command joint intelligence operations center (JIOC). Primary intelligence organizations providing support to joint forces at operational and tactical levels.

Fleet level intelligence

Joint task force joint intelligence support elements (JTF) (JISE). At discretion of a subordinate JFC, JTFJISE may be established during initial phases of an operation.

PIR

Priority intelligence requirements - intelligence requirements which are critical to accomplishing the mission.

CCIR

Commander's critical information requirements - intelligence that is crucial and requires the immediate attention of the commander

Examples of CCIR

Strong indications of the imminent outbreak of hostilities of any type (warning of attack).


Aggression of any nature against a friendly count.


Significant events within potential enemy countries that may lead to modification of nuclear strike plans.

Process of ensuring that all DoD intelligence, counterintelligence, and intelligence-related activities are conducted in accordance with applicable U.S. Law, presidential executive orders, and DoD directives and regulations.
