why the Egyptians embalm the bodies, why they entombed the Egyptians the way they did, why the different items were left in the tomb?
The egyptians embalmed their bodies because they were preserving the bodies because they believed the sole and body would reunited. The egyptians were buried with their treasures because they thought when the body and soul reunited they resume a life like the one they had and thus would want their possessions. A small window was also always left for Ba, the soul, the enter and visit the body.
Why did the Egyptians give such exalted status to animals?
The Egyptians saw them as eternal as the forces of nature and just as worthy of reverence. They were unchanging from generation to generation.
