In order to supply soldiers for WW1, the U.S. created the Selective Services- first military draft ever. it still exists today.

Treaty of Versailles blamed Germany for the war- required them to pay 33 billion dollars in reparations.




Formation of the League of Nations-an organization founded 10 January, 1920 as a result of the Paris Peace Conference that ended WW1. It was the first international organization whose purpose was to maintain world peace.

Technological Effects

It was the first war to use airplanes, tanks, long range artillery, submarines, and poison gas.




New battle strategies and tactics were developed.
