Given below is a list of lessons that can be applied to a science unit for 1<sup>st</sup> and 2<sup>nd</sup> grade students. This is a three day unit in which students will exhibit their knowledge of the fundamentals of physical science, life science, earth and space science by means of experimentation. They will also demonstrate their knowledge on concepts pertaining to daily life activities using properties of objects, patterns, and their repetitive cyclic nature. On completion of this unit, the students will be in a position to explain in detail, the life cycle of a pumpkin, recognize the phases of the life cycle, and determine the pattern in nature. This lesson involves hands on experience which will trigger interest among the students.
