CU
(Close up) an Intimate, tight framing featuring one actor's face and possibly shoulders
ECU
Framed within the face, Often just the eyes. The term is sometimes used to describe extremely tight shots of inanimate objects as well.
Two-Shot
A Medium shot of two people, often profile or 3/4 profile from the waist up.
OS
"over shoulder" is a two shot where one person has their back to the cameraso we see over their shoulder while the other person faces towards the camera. Commonly used while covering dialogue between 2 people.
POV
Point Of View, a shot which appears to be the acual viewpoint of a character in the film. If the camera is moving these shots will often be handheld or steadycam.
Wide
a wide shot may be an establishing shot of a location or a full body shot of a person or persons.
Establishing shot
a wide shot usually at or near the beginning of a scene used to "establish" the setting and orient the viewer.
MASTER
Often the first shot of a scene commited to film. It is generally wide and covers all or at least a good portion of the action within the scene.
CUT
An editing decision where one shot ends and another immediately begins.
Jump Cut
A cut from a certain type of framing or composition to a very similar framing or composition that creates an uneasy feeling with the viewer since the subject seems to "jump" in space and time.

Continuity
represents what the audience can reasonably expect to remain constant within a scene. For example, if a man is wearing a red hat in the wide shot and the next shot is a Med. shot of the man in the same scene, he should still be wearing that hat.
Composition
The way that an image is structured based on the relationship of the elements within the frame.
MOS
"mit out sound" with out sound. Program or recording containing no sound.
EDL
Editor Decision List. A file created by an editor when an edit is complete that contains all the information regarding any of the cuts, disolves and transitions made in the entire program.
