Water vapour:
Responsible for 36%-70% of greenhouse effect.
CO2:
Responsible for 9-26%.
CH4:
Responsible for 4-9%.
Ozone:
Responsible for 3-7%
Carbon Sinks:
- Rocks/minerals, oil, gas, deep ocean (long term sinks)

- Atmosphere and Organic matter (medium term sinks)

Carbon Links:
- Photosynthesis

- Respiration

- Solubility Processes

- Erosion

- Human Combustion

Solubility Pump:
- Ocean loses heat, means more CO2 can dissolve in the water.

- Ocean takes the CO2 from the atmosphere.

- Increase in salt and D.I.C. makes the water heavy, and the CO2 slips beneath the warm water, away from the atmosphere.

Biological Pump:
- CO2 is turne into organic matter, dropping down into the deep water where it is stored away and circulated

- This buffers us from the CO2 and greenhouse effect

Tundra:
Warming could change it from a SINK TO A SOURCE.

- as the water table falls, increased rate of decomposition = increased rate of CO2.

Tropical Forests:
Could act as a CARBON SINK because of enhance production.

- increase in leaf biomass = more CO2 is fixed/stored.
