What's qualitative research? |
Collects narrative data to gain insight- writing essay about research about what different people like. |

What's quantitative research? |
Collects numerical data to explain and predict- mainly statistics |

What does quantitative research include? |
Descriptive research, correlational research, causal competitive research and experimental research. |

What are types of quantitative research |
Single case study, case series, cohort study, case control study, cross sectional study, clinical trials, reliability, diagnostic accuracy. |

What's a single case study? |
Report on the experience of one patient and may cover presentation, examination, diagnosis and treatment. AKA case report. |

What's a case series? |
Report on the experience on more then one patient. May cover presentation, examination, diagnosis and treatment. Summary of clinical experience this is a low level of evidence. |

What's a Cohort Study? |
Flows one or more groups of people over time to see who develops a certain condition. Won't establish cause or effect so much as risk factors. |

What's a Cross Sectional Study? |
A one -off surveys and audits. Can be used to describe populations. For example night time calf cramps. |

What's a case control study? |
Cases (people with the condition) are compared to controls ( people without the condition). Can expose factors associated with the condition of interest, but does not infer casualty. |

What's Reliability? |
Is the test repeatable. |

What's Validity? |
Is it measuring what we want it to measure. |

What's inter-reliability? |
Measurements are made by one person two or more times and the results are compared. |

What's Inter-tester Reliability? AKA Inter-rater reliability. |
Measurements are made by two or more people on one occasion and the results are compared. |
