anorexia nervosa is a psychological disorder involving refusal to eat to loss weight. people who have anorexia nervosa have a dreading fear of becoming fat/obese so they exercise and diet excessively. signs and symptoms: weight loss of 15% of the ideal/ordinary body weight appear emaciated: abnormally thin and weak hair loss and dry skin childlike emotions, logic, and appearance. dehydration and electrolyte imbalance bradycardia, hypotension and weak pulse: due to decreased blood volume. amenorrhea: absent periods distorted body image: views themselves as fat. |
