Denial

The first stage of grief. May refuse to believe they are dying
Anger

Why me? stage. They become angry that they are dying
Bargaining
making promises to get out of dying.
Depression
In this stage they cry withdraw and need more physical and emotional support.
Acceptance

Accept death and start to prepare for it
Shock
Grief process. Family members may be surprised at their feelings.
Denial

wanting to believe everything will quickly return to normal after a death occurs.
Anger

Families may be angry at themselves at god at doctors even the deceased.
Guilt

Families may wish they had done more for the dying person.
Regret
Often ppl regret things they did or did not do. What they said or did not say.
Sadness

feeling depressed or emotionally unstable. ppl may suffer headaches or insomnia.
Loneliness

missing someone who has died
Hospice

Any location where a person who is dying is treated with dignity by caregivers.
Hospice Care
compassionate way to care for dying and their families. It treats the persons physical emotional spiritual and social needs.
Postmortem care

Is the care of the body after death. Bathe, place drainage pads, legs straight arms folded. wrap the body.
