Carrying Frame

Starting With The Carrying Frame...
|
Has a tubular steel frame, which protects the engine and makes it easier to carry.
It also has rubber mounts which reduce engine vibration |

Next Is The Petrol Engine...
|
Is a air cooled petrol engine
Has a recoil starter grip to start the engine And a Throttle control which adjusts the engine revolutions |

Lastly We Have Th e Pump Assembly And Control Valves...
|
This is a radial piston type
Consists of hydraulic control levers with Left Right and Nuetral positions manually operated pressure relief vavle, which retuns pressurised fluid to the resevoir Safety valve is set at 720bar, this regulates the max working pressure of the pump 3 way valve fitted to the control lever which controls the continuos pressure of flow from the pump In the NEUTRAL position the pressurised hydraulic fluid returns to the reservoir via the safety valve. In the RIGHT or LEFT position, the pressurised fluid is directed to that particular side of the manifold Has a hydraulic fluid resevoir of 4lt hydraulic hose connections are fitted with dust caps |

Four sets of connectors allows 4 tools too be connected the four pairs of hydraulic hose connectors are made up of - Male coupling which delivers pressurised fluid from the pump - Female Coupling this returns hydraulic fluid to the resevoir |

To Bring THe Holmatro Hydraulic Pump Into Operation Into The QFRS
|
Includes preparing the pump, start and operate the pump and shut down.
SAFETY - Full PPE to be worn with optional bushfire coat, min riggers gloves, protective eye wear and helmet with visor down. Operation also requires min 2 FF - one to operate the hydraulic control lever and the other the hydraulic tools. 1st - Prepare the pump, on level ground, connect hoses and tools and ensure levers are in the nuetral position 2nd Start & Operate put engine throttle to the start position, fuel line is open, pull the starter grip adjust the throttle as required SAFETY - Always check that you are clear behind before pulling starter grip. - When operating use the CLEAR opening toll and CLEAR closing tool instructions SAFETY - Ensure that it is in a well ventillated area - 3rd Shut Down - Return tools to the make up position, reduce engine throttle and turn off. Close fuel line |

The Holmatro Hydraulic Pump Is Tested In The QFRS Visually Operationally And Annually
|
Visually is done daily and after use at an incident. To ensure the unit has no
-signs of defects or damage -couplings are clean and dust caps are on -all fluid levels are correct controls operate easily and are stowed correctly Operationally is done when taken into servic, weekly and after repair Involves - Connecting tool to pump and operating through full range of movements - ensure their are no leaks when pump, tool and hose are pressurised and that pump operates correctly Annual testing is conducted by workshop staff |
