What are the DSM Axises?
Axis I: Clinical Disorders-Other conditions that may be a focus of clinical attention
Axis II: Personality Disorders-Mental Retardation
Axis III: General Medical Conditions
Axis IV: Psychosocial and Environmental Problems
Axis V: Global Assessment of Functioning
If Criteria are currently met, one of the following severity specifiers may be noted after the diagnosis

What are subtypes?
Mutally exlusive and jointly exhaustive phenomenolgoical subgroupings within a diagnosis and are indicated by the instruction "spcify type" in the criteria set

Provide an opportunity to define a more homogeneous subfrouping of individuals with the disorder who share certain features.
Fifth digit?
Sometimes assigned to code a subtype or specifier or severity.
