8 golden rules of diving

Do not dive if feeling unwell


Do not dive if equipment is suspect


Do not dive on an empty stomach


Do not dive within 2 hours of a heavy meal


Do not dive within 10 hours of consuming alcohol


Do not remain underwater if feeling unwell


Do not exceed the ascent rate or hold breath while ascending


Do not dive deeper than ordered

What’s the 8 pre dive checks

- check buoyancy compensator is secured and functional


- check cylinder “o” ring is in place


-secure regulator to dive cylinder and connect bc hose to bc connection


- check bailout regulator “o” rings in place and secure to bailout cylinder


- insert mouthpieces individually checking for leaks by inhaling


- open both cylinder valves slowly to the full extent and back half a turn.


- check both cylinder pressures are a minimum of 180/270 bars


- check both demand valve actions by inhaling and exhaling
