Blocks selectively beta1 receptors in heart. Angina: slows heart rate and reduce contractility, which lowers myocaedial o2 demand. Taking once a day. |

Thera: drug for angina and HTN Pharma: calcium channel blocker MA: inhibit transport of calcium ions into myocardial cells. Relaxes both coronary and peripheral blood vessels. Useful in treatment of atrial dysrhythmias and HTN as well as angina. |

Reteplase (retavase) thrombolytics |
Thera: drug for dissolving clots Pharma: thrombolytic MA: most effective @30 mins, but not later than 12 hours of onset MI symptoms. After clots dissolves, therapy with hepanin (or orther anticoagulant ) is started to prevent other clots. Adverse effect: hemorrhage. |
