Metabolic Tolerance

Chronic users of alcohol metabolism alcohol at a higher rate because of the increased amount of liver enzymes. This can damage the liver.

Synergy

If two drugs are taken together that are similar in action, such as barbiturates and alcohol, which are both depressants, the effects of the drugs are intensified. The combination could cause coma or death.

Potentiation

When two drugs are taken together, one of them intensified the other. (Antihistamine plus alcohol)
