Mechanism: Amphetamine- releases dopamine and blocks reuptake, Cocaine- blocks dopamine reuptake

Addiction Treatment: dopamin agonists, TCAs, and opiate antagonists

Clinical Use: Amphetamines for narcolepsy

Side Effects: MA neurotoxic to dopamine neurons. Spaced admin. -> sensitization and Rapid, repetitive -> tolerance
Gamma-butyrolactone
Strength enhancers, remove inhibitions, "date rape"

May have own specific receptors
