Before writing writing this monologue reflecting on my experience going to the 9/11 memorial, and on the events of 9/11, i thought it wouldn't be that hard considering there is so much to explain and so much emotion. Although when i sat down to start writing, my mind went blank.

Before writing writing this monologue reflecting on my experience going to the 9/11 memorial,

Imagine- going to work like you always do, walking through the familiar hallways of your school, starting your day as usual- with a cup of coffee. Now imagine a different morning, imagine going to work and trying to escape, 100 floors in the air because a plane crashed into the side of your building. Not knowing if you’ll even ever see your family again.

Imagine- going to work like you always do,

It really is nothing that you could ever imagine being a part of, waking up on a nice beautiful day and not knowing your life is going to change forever. Me not personally knowing a victim, but the memorial still impacting me as much as it did I could never imagine what it would be like for me to lose a family member on this horrible day. Headshots of 2997 victims filled the room, from children, to mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, and friends.

Beams, everywhere you look there are beams folded and bent hanging from the ceilings. Stairs, that people were running down terrified for their life, crumbled and broken. Firetrucks, with only half a ladder looking like it was swept up into the tornado. The tornado that people described they were being sucked up by, as the building was crashing to the ground.

Beams, everywhere you look there are beams

Tears rolling down peoples cheeks, the sound of gasps filling your ears from the people around you, while walking through the memorial. Everything is quiet, blank white faces, with the impression that people don't know what to say or even think. Tears rolling down my cheeks, the sound of my gasp filling my ears as i am walking through the memorial. I am quiet, and i have a blank white face, not knowing what to say or think.
