Pathophysiology |
Two mechanisms that may contribute to dizziness in this pattern.
1) qi and Blood can be weak or of poor quality and thus unable to nourish blood properly 2) Qi and blood may fail to reach the head at all due to functional weakness of the Heart and Spleen - the zang primarily responsible for correct distribution of qi and Blood |

Clinical Features |
-Dizziness that is usually mild or postural, worse with rising from sitting or lying down, or when fatigued
-palpitations with or without anxiety -Anxiety, phobias, panic attacks -forgetfulness, poor memory -blurring vision, spots before the eyes -insomnia -fatigue and lethergy -low spirits or depression -pale, sallow complexion, pale lips and nails -poor appetite -dry skin and hair -heavy or prolonged menstrual periods, easy bruising T-pale and maybe swollen with little coat P-thready and weak |

with loose stools and abdominal bloating and loss of appetite use CHAO dang gui increase Mu Xiang to 9 + Shan Yao 12 + Shen Qu 9 -Spleen Yang Deficiency (cold extremities, cold abdomen on palpation with desire for warm drinks) + Rou Gui 3 Gan Jiang 6 or use RX: FU ZI LI ZHONG WAN Fu Zi, Ren Shen, Gan Jiang, Bai Zhu and Zhi Gan Cao as guiding formula -Easy sweating and fequent colds: increase huang qi to 24 + Ma Huang Gen 9 Wu Wei Zi 6 or use: RX: BUZHONG YI QI TANG huang qi 15 dang shen 12 bai zhu 12 dang gui 9 chen pi 6 zhi gan cao 6 sheng ma 3 chai hu 3 -With Blood Deficiency (pale lips and nails, frequent dizziness, insomnia with anxiety and palpitations) + Shu di 16 E Jiao 9 (dissolved later) |
