**Pancreatic cholera is known by many names: VIPoma, Verner Morrison Syndrome, and WDHA syndrome. It is a condition caused by an endocrine pancreas tumor of non-beta islet cells. The tumor either continuously or sporadically inappropriately releases high quantities of VIP (vasoactive intestinal peptide). VIP, in healthy individuals, is usually released by the endocrine pancreas in response to ingestion of fats, proteins, and alcohol. VIP has many roles; in the gastrointestinal tract, it relaxes the lower esophageal sphincter, stomach, and gallbladder, but stimulates contraction of the enteric smooth muscle (intestinal smooth muscle), promoting bowel motility. In addition, it is a powerful stimulant to the release of very watery pancreatic fluids and watery bile, and a strong promoter towards the secretion of large volumes of water and electrolytes directly from the intestine itself. The result is extremely watery diarrhea (like cholera) that is tea-colored**
