What is the difference between atrophy, hypoplasia, and involution?
Atrophy occurs after an organ has fully formed and then decreases in size.

Hypoplasia is an organ that failed to fully form.

Involution is an organ that fully formed then decreased cell number or formed from the apoptosis of cells.
Thalidomide use in pregnant women caused what type of cellular degeneration?
Hypoplasia
In carpal tunnel syndrome what happens to the muscles of the affected hand supplied by the median nerve, especially visible in the thenar eminence?
Muscular atrophy
Why can dysplasia be used to describe both a malformed organ and abnormal cells on a pap smear?
