What makes VoIP over DOCSIS 1.1 and PacketCable networks better than over the Internet?
IP networks that are managed by DOCSIS and PacketCable standards can identify real-time packets like VoIP and gaming. These high-priority packets are routed with less processing delay than other packets where packet delay is not an issue. The Internet has no universal method to identify and priortize VoIP packets; only a namaged IP network can do that, like the one defined by PacketCable.

The personal video recorder (PVR) uses an internal computer storage uint with a large number of hours in memory capacity. TiVo and ReplayTV are two commercially available PVR services. The PVR increases the user's ability to "time shift" programs and watch them whenever it is most convenient. The PVR enen can pause the action on live TV (such as a sports event). While the program is pausing, the PVR is recording it. When ready to return, the viewr can pick up the action at the exact moment of apusing and continue through the end of the program.
