What is CID?
The process of attaining an accurate characterization of detected objects in the OE.
CID Process serves what 3 purposes?
Identify and classify targets in the OE.
Allow for the timely processing of engagement decisions on targets classified as enemy. The mitigation of fratricide and collateral damage to noncombatants. |
What is Crew Search?
Is the act of carefully watching designated areas.
What is the VC's sector of responsibility during open hatch operations?
360 degrees, however, when the loader observes from the hatch, the VC observes from the front of the gun mantle, clockwise, to the left rear of the turret.
What is the loader's sector of responsibility during open hatch operations?
from the right front of the gun mantle, counterclockwise, to the right rear of the turret, and is primary air guard when not inside the turret.
What is the VC's sector of responsibility during closed hatch operations?
observes 360 degree security using his vision blocks. On tanks when the loader is able to scan to the rear, the VC must be able to view from the back of the loader's sponson box. This should slightly overlap the loader's viewing area. Also assumes primary air guard
During closed hatch operations the crews ability to acquire targets is reduced to what?
50%
What is Target Detection?
Is the discovery of any object in the OE such as personal, vehicles, equipment, or objects of potential military significance.
What are the 6 Target Signatures?
Soldiers, Tracked Vehicles, Antitank, Artillery, Aircraft, Obstacles and mines.
What are the 9 detection challenges?
Targets that are camouflaged.
Targets that can be seen but not heard. Targets under less than ideal fire illumination. Mirage effects caused by high temperatures and heat waves near the ground. Peripheral targets. Small single targets. Small targets in complex detection environments. Natural and manmade obstacles. Behavioral or physical deficiencies of the observer. |
What are the 5 Thermal Signatures?
Solar Heat
Fuel Combustion Friction Thermal reflections Body Heat |
What is Target Location?
determination of where a target is in your OE. Locating a target occurs as a result of observation and detection during crew search.
What are the Target Location Techniques?
Traverse, Clock, Grid, Sector, Target Designate, Reference point
Which is the least preferred Target location technique?
Grid
What are the Ground Search techniques?
Rapid scan, Slow (50 meter) Scan, Detailed search
What are the Urban Search Techniques?
Ground to rooftop and Horizontal slow-scan and detailed search
What method would u use at night without the use of optics?
Off center method
What are the Air Search Techniques?
Horizontal Search and scan
Vertical Search and scan Detailed search |
What are the Sector search techniques?

Dangerous Least Dangerous |
What are the target prioritization?
Close range targets before engaging long range targets.
Stationary targets before engaging moving targets. Frontal Targets before engaging flank or rear targets. |
What are the 2 type of range determination?
Immediate and Deliberate range determination.
What are the Immediate Range determination methods?

my mother knows about fucking |
Mil Relationship method, Maps/Digital Maps method, Known range, Adjacent Vehicle, Flash to Bang
What are the 2 methods of engagements?
Precision and Degraded
Battlecarry is a posture in which a vehicle is prepared for an engagement at all times and ensures what?
The main gun or primary weapon system is loaded with the designated ammo type.
The FCS is set to fire the selected ammo type. A predetermined battlesight range has been applied to the system. |
What are the 7 elements of a fire command?
