When are diagrams most helpful?
For rapid location of components of systems, in plotting damage, and in making decisions to temporarily restor service when casualties arise.

When making routine repairs and maintenance checks of systems
What type of diagrams are commonly used as damage control diagrams?
The isometric type but some plan view are also used.
What will be found on all diagrams?
Lettering and numbers which indicate different compartments, their use, and the various systems with there component parts, the name of the system to which the diagram applies in addition to the symbols.
What are the two types of damage control diagrams?
Lithographed in color for all combatants, and halftone reproductions for auxiliary and miscellaneous ships over 220 feet.
