+ fasting glucose > 7mmol/L or Random > 11mmol/L WITHOUT SYMPTOMS Need 2 separate tests showing fasting > 7mmol/L Random > 11mmol/L Glucose tolerance test > 11mmol/L at 2hrs |

but OGTT 2hrs > 7.8 but < 11mmol/L |

Fasting glucose > 6mmol/L but <7mmol/L

Normal people OGTT results in fall GH so they are usually undetectable i.e. <0.5mmol/L

Urine osmolality is usually tightly controlled between 285-295mOsmol/kg
In DI osmolality is usually low < 400mOsmol and cannot be concentrated therefore early morning urine testing is best test |
