2) Direct supervision: Licensed dentist is REQUIRED to be present in the facility;

Dental Hygiene care denotes all integrated preventive and treatment services administered to a patient. They can be subdivided into 3 services:

1) Preventive Services:


-Primary: measures taken so disease does not occur ( disease does not exist yet)


-Secondary: treatment of early disease ( disease still reversible)


-Tertiary: treatment to replace lost tissue and rehabilitate the oral health


2) Educational Services: behavioral changes directed toward health practices


3)Therapeutic services: clinical treatment to arrest or control disease.
