Crescent shaped membrane growing from roof of primitive atrium to fusing endocardial cushions

Large opening between septum primum free edge and the endocardial cushions.
Disappears when the septum primum fuses with the left edge of the endocardial cushions.
What is the foramen secundum?
Central opening in the septum primum that appears prior to the disappearance of the foramen primum.
What are the main characteristics of the septum secundum?
Second crescent membrane forming next to the foramen primum that overlaps the foramen secundum of the septum primum.
Forms an incomplete partition between the atria forming the foramen ovale.
Describe the formation of the left atrium?
Wall of the left atrium is formed by incorporation of the primitive pulmonary vein into the wall of the left atrium. This gives the wall a smooth appearance.
