Physical : change in appetite, bowel changes, lack or participation in everyday life, change in general appearance, sleep deprivation, sexual functioning Psychologically: depressed mood, attitude change, loss of interest and speech and thought issues |

Treatments for depression? |
Mild : a safe place to talk, further assessment, general info and self help Moderate: individual/ guided self help, talk therapies, antidepressants ssris Severe : antidepressants (tricyclic TCAs), mood stabilisers, ECT, anti anxiety meds, CBT and relationship therapies. Guidelines for antidepressants; Should not be used in mild depression Should be used with CBT SSRIS used first as less side effects |
