Mandibular Molars have a more defined / sharper pulp than Maxillary Molars.
Maxillary molars have 3 roots plus a palatal root; therefore, their pulp chamber will appear to be more fuzzy.
On PeriApical views, the Maxillary Sinuses will be seen.
The Maxillary sinuses are fuzzy / blackish gray / circular areas above the roots of the teeth.
On Bite Wings, Look for The Curve of Spee
Smile Line
Dot in the Slot with PeriApicals
When taking PAs, orient the dot in the same direction on all bite wings. This should help you to line up the PAs.
What Information is Placed on a Film Mount?
1. Patient's Full Name
2. Date of Exposure
3. Dentist's Name
4. Radiographer's Name
At MOCO, we use the Labial Mounting.
The dot is raised when viewing as if you are outside the patient, facing in.

A PIMPLE, NOT A DIMPLE

7. Arrange the films on the work surface in anatomic order.
8. Place each film in the mount and secure it.
9. Check the radiographs.
Tips of Mounting Films:

Tips of Mounting Films:
Separate the films into Molars and Premolars.
PeriApical Films have both the Crowns of the Maxillary Teeth and the Crowns of the Mandibular Teeth on the radiograph.
Remember,
Vertical PAs for Anteriors
Horizontal PAs for Posteriors.
