Aerosol

A substance packaged under pressure for release as a spray of fine particles

Aerosol dust

The chemical agent is mixed with a quick evaporating solvent. This solution is delivered in a fine mist which is wet for approximately the first 4 feet. The solution quickly evaporates, leaving a cloud of dry, microscopic cs irritant particles in the air.

Blast dispersion

The agent is deposited on a light carrier material (magnesium oxide) and is then blown out of its container by a charge of powder. The chemical agent is dispersed in dust form. It is possible to make this method fire safe, but it is not recommended where there may be volatile fumes in the air.

Combustion

The chemical agent is mixed with a burning compound. When the compound is ignited it produces smoke. Heat from the burning cause the smoke to emit from canister like steam from a tea kettle. The smoke carries the chemical agent particles from the container. The tendency to obscure vision is an added advantage.

Fixed electrical dispersion

The chemical agents are contained in an electrically controlled plastic dispenser or fixture. These fixtures are usually located in the ceiling or high on the walls of large internal areas within a correctional facility. The chemical agents are delivered in dust form.

Fog

The chemical agent mixed with a fogging formulation ( premixed by the manufacturer). The solution is then siphoned through a nozzle into the chamber of the hot exhaust pipe that creates a cloud of visible white smoke, which Carrie's the cs particles.

Grenade

A metal or plastic canister which contains chemical agent and carrier used in the delivery of chemical agents

Liquid dissemination

The chemical agent is carried in a liquid solution contained in a plastic projectile. Upon impact, the container (projectile) breaks open, splashing the liquid solution into the air disseminating the chemical agent in mist form.

Maximum accurate deployment

The range that the average trained shooter can accurately deliver an exposure of chemical agents to an intended area or subject each and every time.

Maximum range

The approximate distance chemical agent munitions will travel when fired or launched from the gas gun at a 45 degree angle unchecked.

Tactical inventory

Chemical agent munitions that meet the manufactures shelf life guarantee and my be used for tactical deployment in a correctional facility.

Training inventory

Chemical agents munitions that ha e exceeded the shelf life guarentee by the manufacturer. These munitions must be removed from the tactical inventory and used for training purposes only.
