Mean

Arithmetic average. Computed by adding all of the scores and then dividing by the number of scores. Represented by "mu" (Greek letter)

Weighted Mean

When you combine two sets of scores and then find the overall mean for the combined group.

Constants

If a constant value is added or subtracted from every score in a distribution, the same constant is added / subtracted to the mean.



Same with multiplying or dividing!



NOT the same with squaring, etc.

Median

The midpoint of the distribution data, assuming scores are listed in order from smallest to largest. The point where 50% of the scores in the distribution are located.

Mode

In a frequency distribution, the mode is the score or category that has the greatest frequency.
