Angina
Constricting/heaviness in mid thorax, arms, shoulders, neck, cheeks, teeth during exercise or other exciting or stressful situations, indicates possible ischaemia.
Dyspnea
Shortness of breath in situations that should not produce Shortness of breath such as at rest or in mild exertion. Suggests cardiopulmonary disorder or COPD
Dizziness/syncope
Dizziness or loss of consciousness DURING exercise. Indicates possible cardiac disorders that prevent rise (or cause a fall) in CO.
Orthopnea/nocturnal dyspnea
Dyspnea occurring at rest or while sleeping that is relieved by sitting upright or standing up. Suggest left ventricular dysfunction.
Ankle edema
Bilateral edema appears most often at night and indicates great failure or bilateral chronic venous insufficiency. Unilateral indicates venous thrombosis or lymphatic blockage. Generalized edema shows nephrotic syndrome, severe great failure, hepatic cirrhosis
Palpitations/tachycardia
Unpleasant awareness of forceful beats of the heart. Induced by various disorders of cardiac rhythm and/or anxiety.
Intermittent claudication
Pain in muscle with inadequate blood supply. May indicate atherosclerosis or coronary artery disease. Higher risk with diabetes.
Heart murmur
May indicate valvular or other CVD such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and aortic stenosis (leading causes of exercise related sudden death)
Unusual fatigue
May signal onset of change in CVD, pulmonary, metabolic disease
