What are the 6 types of crime? |
Violent Crime, Property Crime, Public Order Crime, White-Collar Crime, Organized Crime, High-Tech Crime |

What is the Consensus Model? |
A group of people gather together and agree on different ideas. This shows that different races can share some of the same morals. |

What is the Conflict Model? |
Says that the rich tend to control society, while the poor/middle-class can only go so far. |

To control crime, to prevent crime, and to provide and maintain justice. |

What are the types of state law enforcement? |
State Police, Highway Patrols, Fire Marshals and fish, Game, and Watercraft Wardens. |

Department of Homeland Security, FBI, DEA (drugs), U.S. Secret Service, ATF (alcohol,tobacco,firearms). These started to increase greatly after 9/11. |

Kidnapping a person and bringing them to another state, or committing capital muder on a fed. |

Prisons are for those who server one year or more. Jails are for those who commit minor crimes, and have less than a year sentence. |

1st Layer (top) consists of celebrity cases. 2nd Layer consists of high profile felonies. 3rd Layer consists of ordinary felonies. 4th Layer (bottom) consists of misdemeanors. |

Yes. Only about 5% of those arrested for felonies go to trial. |

A criminal justice model that places primary emphasis on the right of society to be protected from crime and violent criminals. |

Describe the Due Process Model. |
A criminal justice model that places primary on the right of the individual to be protected from the power of the government. Protects individuals from the power of the state. |

Assault is to threaten an individual. No contact is necessary. Assault is to threaten. Battery is to cause harm to an individual (physical contact is necessary). Battery is to cause harm. |

Burglary is when someone breaks in and steal from your home or business. Robbery is when someone steals something while you are present. |
