What are the 3 fetal shunts?

2. ductus arteriosus- sensitive to O2, releases prostoglandins at birth, contracts and closes (ligamentous arteriosus 6-months) 15-24 hrs of age closes 3. foramen ovale- flap of tissue in L atrium, pressure of L atrium increased and closes the flap of tissue, hopefully decreases right side pressure |
