Maxitrol (dexamethasone and Polymixin B) can be Rx'd even though the antibiotic component is not needed.

It's only $5
Explain "binary" tapering
A protocol that reduces the daily steroid dose by 50% once inflammation control is achieved (ex qid for 1 week, then bid for 1 week, the bd for the final week).

If inflammation is well under control after only a few days, the taper may be more rapid (ex qid for 3 days, then bid for 3 days, then cease treatment).
What are the steroids with moderate to high potency?
High: Pred Forte, Durezol, Lotemax, Lotemax ointment, and Dexamethasone

Moderate: FML
What is the specific uses of Lotemax?
Allergic eye disease, chronic uveitis and keratoconjunctivitis, postoperative inflammation
What are the steroids with lower potency?
Alrex and Pred Mild
What is the general uses of the steroids with lower potency?
Mild ocular surface and corneal inflammation
What is the specific uses of Alrex?
Allergic eye disease, seasonal allergic conjunctivitis, Thygesons's SPK
What is the specific uses of FML?
Ocular allergy, Thygesons' SPK, adenoviral keratoconjunctivitis
