Primary infection during pregnancy, 40%fetus will become infected. The congenital infection is 0.1/1000 Most babies asymptomatic 10%have clinical manifestation as: RETINOPATHY (ACUTE FUNDAL CHORIORETINITIS) CEREBRAL CALCIFICATION HYDROCEPHALUS infected babies are treated for 1 year with pyrimethamine and sulfadiazine . Asymptomatic babies remain at risk of developing CHORIORETINITIS into adulthood |
