Case 1 - Simple statements of fact/ conditions that can or might be met
Use "se" + indicative (normal verb form) for both clauses, with verbs in appropriate tense (possible use of imperative in main clause)
Case 2 - Condition is either (a) unlikely/theoretical, but possible, or (b) impossible/imaginary
Use "se" + imperfect subjunctive (congiuntivo) for "if" clause AND present conditional for main clause (action that would have happened)
Case 3 - Condition can no longer be met (i.e. opportunity has passed) OR contrary to fact or imaginary situation entirely in past
Use "se" + traspassato del congiuntivo (pluperfect subjunctive) for "if" clause AND past conditional for main clause (action that would have happened)
If you give me 50 Euros, I'll give you the change
