What do POWs have the right to? |
- receive sanitary, protective housing and clothing. - receive sufficient amount of food to sustain good health. -receive adequate medical care -receive necessary facilities for proper hygiene - practice religious faith - keep personal property except weapons, military equipment and military documents -send and receive mail -receive packages containing non contraband items such as food, clothing, educational, religious, and recreational materials - select a fellow POW to represent you - receive humane treatment - have a copy of the Geneva convention and its annexes, including any special agreements posted where it can be read. Must be written in the proper language and available upon request. |
