Barley - Grain is spindle shaped with a wide groove down one side.

High energy and medium protein cereal grain. Starch (50%). Less palatable than other cereals.
Bruised Barley
Maize - energy in starch. High energy and low protein. starch (70%) Low mineral status (poor Ca:P ratio). Palatable.
Oats - medium energy and low protein. Starch (40%). High digestible fibre and oil compared to wheat and barley.
Wheat - very high energy from starch. Medium protein levels and very palatable.
Wheat - very high energy from starch. Medium protein levels and very palatable.
Grass Nuts - lucerne grass. Rich in protein and digestible fibre. Retains most nutritional composition of grass and good palatability.
Grass Silage - Anaerobic fermented mature cut grass. Palatability and quality varies. Clamp and Big Bale forms.
Bran - fibrous by product. Usually fed with medicine due to water retention.

High in phosphorous and magnesium but low in calcium. Low energy and starch levels. Average palatability.
Brewer's Grains - By product of the brewing. Pale brown friable texture.

High digestibility, good quality protein. Very palatable and undegradable from heat processing.
Citrus Pulp - By product of fruit processing.

Energy from sugar and digestible fibre. High energy and low protein.
Dark Grains - By product of malt whisky industry (barley distillers). High energy and low protein.

DO NOT FEED TO SHEEP - residue copper from copper equipment.
Linseed - By product of linseed (flax) oil processing. Brown meal or pellets.

High in energy oil, carbohydrates and protein. Good source of fibre.
Maize Gluten - cereal grain by product of the starch industry.

Good starch, protein and digestible fibre.
Rapeseed Meal - by product of oil industry.

Good energy feed, high protein, low palatability.
Soy Bean Meal - by product of the oil industry.

Good energy feed, high protein and low palatability.
Sugar Beet Shreds - By product of the sugar industry.

Must be soaked for 12 hours
High fermentable energy, energy levels similar to barley, low protein, high digestible fibre and palatable.
Sugar Beet Nuts - By product of the sugar industry.

Must be soaked for 24 hours
High fermentable energy, similar energy levels to barley, low protein, high digestibility and palatable.
Sugar Beet Flakes - By product of the sugar industry

High fermentable energy, similar to barley in energy levels, low protein, high digestibility and palatable.
Wholecrop Wheat - Good to average palatability.
