Atypical vs Typical |
Propensity for EPS (extrapyramidalsymptoms) was the primary factor inclassifying antipsychotics into typical andatypical groups. In this sense, only clozapineand quetiapine could easily be described asfully atypical', with both demonstratingnegligible propensity for EPS.More recently, preparations have beenclassifed as first- or second-generationantipsychotics (FGAS/SGAs) according totheir date of introduction. |
