What were the 3 amendments that took affect during the Post Civil War Period between 1865 and 1954? Explain.
The 13th amendment gave Afr-Am freedom, the 14th amendment gave everyone equality and the 15th amendment allowed Afr-Am or black citizens the right to vote.

What were the some of the key factors of cheap labor? Explain.
1. The cotton gin invented by Eli Whitney allowed slaves to remove and grow cotton in a much easier and efficient way which later led to sharecropping.

2. "Debt Peonage" was a new form of slavery. It was said that "If slaves leave, then their masters would call the cops in which slaves would end up in jail as indentured servants for the state."

3. Voting laws allowed citizens to vote.

4. Grandfather Clause: "If grandfather vote, then you can vote."

5. Poll taxes must be paid in Feb. in order to vote in Nov.

6. The literacy tests lasted until the 1870s and later became unconstitutional.

What was the Plessy vs. Ferguson case about?
The Plessy vs. Ferguson case was about "separate but equal" concept. The U.S. Supreme Court upheld the Constitution of racial segregation. The Doctrine of Separate but Equal allowed the community to separate racists as long as accommodations is equal.

Who was Jim Crow and what was the law that he created about?
Jim Crow was a song-and-dance caricature of Afr-Am. The laws he created was the state and local laws that enacted primarily but not exclusively in the Southern and border states of the U.S., between 1876 and 1965. It mandated the segregation in all public facilities, with a "separate but equal" status for black Am. and members of other non-white racial groups.

By 1964, segregation took affect, but in 1966, desegregation occurred. Earlier, in 1957 in Little Rock, AK, lynching took affect. Orville Faubus, the governor of AK was one of the many Afr-Am to get hanged or lynched . During this time of the Social Movement era, the first to be desegregated was Central H.S. who called out the national guards.

The Black Muslims was a religious organization whose objectives were to apply the teachings of Islam to the black Am. experience. The leader of the Black Muslims was Eli Muhammad. Most of the Black Muslims were in black states within the U.S. One of the key roles in 1968 included Martin Luther King's assassination on April 4th, which erupted into riots and people revered King for what he did for the Civil Rights Movement.
