How do the following diseases affect pulse pressure? Atherosclerosis, Aortic Stenosis, Patent Ductus Arteriosis, Aortic Regurge

Pulse Pressure depends on SV, arteriole compliance & volume. Higher SV increases systole. Lower compliance means less volume and less elastic rebound. These both lower diastole and increase systole. Lower fluid volume also decrease diastole.

Widen: Atherosclerosis, Patent Ductus, Regurge

Narrow: Aortic Stenosis

Describe the bradykinin pathway

Kinins are arteriole dilators and capillary permeablizers. They are cleaved from alpha2-globulins by kallikrein. Kallikrein is activated by RBC injury or inflammation. Bradykinin lasts only for minutes before breakdown, one enzyme of which is ACE.
