Chromosome

One of the structures in the nucleus that are made up of DNA

Chromatid

One of two strand of a chromosome that becomes visible during meiosis or mitosis.

Centromere

Region of the chromosome that hold the two sister chromatids together during mitosis

Chromatin

The material that makes up both mitotic and interphase chromosomes

Sex chromosome

Chromosome that determines the sex of an organism.

Autosome
