In return, the king would grant them back the land .
This was a fail as one they were regranted the land...
they went back to their old ways.

1) PEOPLE: Queen Elizabeth expected 20,000 ppl to come over. Instead only 4,000 came.

2)The settlers broke rules as Gaelic-Irish ppl were willing to pay more rent and work for less.

3)SIZE OF ESTATES: Ppl were given estates that were too large for them to handle and protect from the natives.

4)Many Landlords were absentee Landlords
