Rule 1

Clean up spills and broken glass immediately. Leave all work areas clean.

In the event you are burned...

Immediately flush with cold water until the burning sensation subsides.

In the event someone faints...

Provide fresh air. If breathing stops, use artificial resuscitation.

In the event of a fire...

Turn off all gas outlets. Unplug all appliances. Use fire blanket or fire extinguisher to smother fire. Do not cut off a person's air supply.

In the event you sustain an eye injury...

Immediately flush the eye with running water. Remove contact lenses. Do not allow the eye to be rubbed if a foreign object is present in the eye.

In the event you sustain a minor cut...

Allow the cut to bleed briefly. Wash it with soap and water. Apply slight pressure if cut continues to bleed.

If you are poisoned...

Note what substance was responsible and alert the teacher immediately.

If a chemical is spilled on your skin...

Flush with water.
