Concentration is 50Gm/240 ml
Harmful vomiting and marginal effects with cyanide, corrosives, ethanol, methanol, petroleum, distillates, organic solvents, or mineral oils. Administered to alert, cooperative patient with a gag reflex. Relatively insoluble in water, most effective if administered within 30 minutes of ingestion. Contact poison control is recommended prior to administration OD of drugs known to cause rapid onset of seizures(TCA’s, etc) due to common side effect of vomiting, use caution. Anticipated vomiting complications during administration. Repeat dose may be required. Limited to charcoal, do not use Sorbitol/charcoal mixture. |
