Feudalism
The dominant social system in medieval Europe. Nobility held lands from the crown in exchange for military service. Peasants were obliged to live on their lords land and give him homage, labor and a share of the produce nationally in exchange for military protection.
Feudal Contract
During middle ages economic life centered on the manor. Lords received manors from kings and other lords in return for military service.
Vassal
A person who has entered mutual obligation to a lord or conduct in medical Europe.
Knight
A man who served his sovereign or lord as a mounted soldier in armor
Fief
Central element of feudalism and consisted of heritable property or rights granted by an overlord to a vassal who held it in fealty in return for a from of feudal allegiance and service
