1: This amendment was created because of the tie between Jefferson and Burr during the election of 1800.

12th Amendment

1: Definition of word: policy that government should interfere as little as possible in the nations economy.


2: This French philosophy thinks that the government shouldn't be really big and powerful and Jefferson also believed that there shouldn't be a very strong Federal government.

1: Right before Adams was about to leave office he appointed judges and this man was one of them but then Jefferson took office and didn't let this man become a judge.


2: The three principles set by this were that the Constitution is the supreme law, the Constitution must be followed when there is a conflict, or disagreement, between it and any other law, and the judicial branch must uphold the Constitution and nullify, or cancel, unconstitutional laws.

1: Definition of word: the right of the Supreme Court to determine if a law violates the Constitution.

1: This man wanted a smaller federal government, he wanted to bridge the gap between the political parties, he believed the states could better protect freedom than the Federal Government, he was a republican, and he wanted to cut back costs on government spending.

Thomas Jefferson

1: Definition of phrase: this act set up regional courts for the United States with 16 judges and other judicial officials.


2: The Federalists passed the act of 1801.


3: President Adams last few days were full of appointing new people to become judges.
