1. What is Glycolysis? Where is it stored and what is its function?
1. Glycolysis is the process in which one molecule of glucose is broken in half, producing 2 molecules of pyruvic acid, a 3 carbon compound. It is located in the cytoplasm and its function is to porduce pyruvic acid.
2. What is Lactic Acid Fermentation and what does it use and produce?
2. lactic acid fermentationspv/ ruvic acid that accutrulates are a result of glycolysis that can be converted into lactic acid. the process regenerates NAP+ so glycolysis can continue formula: pyruvic acid + NADH - lactic acid + NAD+
3. What is Alcohalic Fermentation and what does it use and produce?
3. Alcohalic Fermentation is when yeasts and few other microorganisms use alcohalic fermentation, forming ethyl alcohal and carbon dioxcide as wastes. It causes bread to rise and produces alcohal as well as CO2 (carbon dioxcide)
4. What is the Krebs Cycle and who invented it?
4. The Krebs Cycle is where pyruvic acid is broken down into carbon dioxcide in a series of energy-extracting reactions. Hans Krebs thought of it. Its like the Calvin cycle except iside an animal cel and in the Mitochondria.
